Founder and CEO
Deepak started Chowbotics in 2014 to make food preparation fun by automating tedious, repetitive tasks with robotics. Prior to Chowbotics, he was a Director at Rambus and Chief Scientist at MonolithIC 3D Inc. He is an inventor of more than 125 patents, of which a dozen are used in every iPhone. He received his B. Tech from IIT Madras in 2003 and PhD from Georgia Tech in 2007.
Rich was an Apple Fellow in the 1980s, where he prototyped the Lisa, the first Mac, the big Mac and the first portable Mac. Following Apple, he joined Steve Jobs at NeXT Computer, where he served as a co-Founder and VP Engineering. He has built and sold two startups successfully since NeXT. Most recently, he was a Fellow at Rambus.
Chief Operating Officer
Kendall brings 15 years of multi-industry experience to her COO role. Most recently, she was CFO at Revolution Foods, where she helped grow revenue by more than $100M while making its core business profitable. Kendall received a BS in Finance and Accounting from UC Berkeley, and an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
Vice President of Hardware
An ex-Intel team member, Gang is responsible for the hardware engineering and the manufacturing of Sally the Salad Robot. He received his BS from Tsinghua University and PhD from Georgia Institute of Technology. Gang also has his MBA from the University of Chicago's Booth School of Business.
Vice President, Design
Mara is responsible for design, user experience and marketing functions at Chowbotics. She previously led the creative team for EAT Club, which is one of the largest business-focused lunch delivery services. Responsible for meeting all creative needs for the startup, she oversaw marketing, branding, and creative services. Previously, she co-founded the venture-backed luxury fashion e-commerce company, ModeWalk.
General Manager, China Development Center
George is General Manager of the China Development Center at Chowbotics. Before he joined Chowbotics, he was an Assistant General Manager at Dragon Innovation, a firm that helps US companies manufacture in China. In this role, he helped take products such as the Makerbot, Sphero and Pebble Watch to successful manufacturing in China. George spent the early part of his career in IBM, where he was a procurement manager. He received his Bachelor’s Degree from HUST.
Vice President, Customer Success
Al was co-founder and CEO of Bamba, a venture-backed company, that he led for 4 years. Prior to that, Al spent 6 years working in telecom software in Sales & Biz Dev, Operations and R&D roles. Al holds an engineering degree from the University of Waterloo. Al is also an Executive Director of the Young Presidents Fund.
Vice President, Software
Hamid was previously the co-founder and CTO of Bistrobot, a Y Combinator funded sandwich robotics company. He then worked with Verb Surgical, an Alphabet company, on their surgery robotics platform. Hamid holds a Master’s and Ph.D in Robotics from University of Utah.
