Founder & Chief Executive Officer
Deepak started Chowbotics in 2014 to make food preparation fun by automating tedious, repetitive tasks with robotics. Prior to Chowbotics, he was a Director at Rambus and Chief Scientist at MonolithIC 3D Inc. He is an inventor of more than 100 patents, of which a dozen are used in every iPhone. He received his B. Tech from IIT Madras in 2003 and PhD from Georgia Tech in 2007.
Rich was an Apple Fellow in the 1980s, where he prototyped the Lisa, the first Mac, the big Mac and the first portable Mac. Following Apple, he joined Steve Jobs at NeXT Computer, where he served as a co-Founder and VP Engineering. He has built and sold two startups successfully since NeXT. Most recently, he was a Fellow at Rambus.
Vice President of Hardware
An ex-Intel team member, Gang is responsible for the hardware engineering and the manufacturing of Sally the Salad Robot. He received his BS from Tsinghua University and PhD from Georgia Institute of Technology. Gang also has his MBA from the University of Chicago's Booth School of Business.
Vice President of Marketing
Slaton serves as Vice President of Marketing. He brings more than 20 years of marketing experience to Chowbotics, working for advertising agencies such as Publicis and some of the world's leading restaurant brands such as McDonald's, Denny's, Arby's and TGI Friday's. Slaton manages all aspects of Chowbotics marketing and public relations.
Chief Culinary Officer
Charlie is best known as the Executive Chef who set up Google's trendsetting food program. His restaurant, Calafia Café & Market A Go-Go in Palo Alto, CA, epitomizes the idea that “being green” is good for the producer, consumer, environment and local community. He brings this same pioneering spirit to his work with the Chowbotics team and Sally’s recipes, designed to keep people energized and at their best.
A graduate of Le Cordon Bleu, Robert started his career at the prestigious Chateau Marmont in West Hollywood, working his way up to Chef de Cuisine during his nine years there. Robert later joined the team at Calafia Café, becoming the second in command and working closely with Chef Charlie Ayers. Most recently, he was the private chef for Harry Cheung, a well-known angel investor.
George is General Manager of the China Development Center at Chowbotics. Before he joined Chowbotics, he was an Assistant General Manager at Dragon Innovation, a firm that helps US companies manufacture in China. In this role, he helped take products such as the Makerbot, Sphero and Pebble Watch to successful manufacturing in China. George spent the early part of his career in IBM, where he was a procurement manager. He received his Bachelor’s Degree from HUST.
